Effective on August 1, 2008, in compliance with the Administrative Procedure Act of the State of Arkansas, the current Fire Code shall be the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, 2007 Edition.

• INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE shall mean the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, Volume I, based on the 2006 IFC.

• INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE shall mean the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, Volume II, based on the 2006 IBC.

• INTERNATIONAL RESIDENTIAL CODE shall mean the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, Volume III, based on the 2006 IRC.

The design and construction of new structures shall comply with Arkansas Fire Prevention Code Volume II, and any alterations, additions, changes in use or changes in structures required by this Code, which are within the scope of the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code Volume II, shall be made in accordance therewith.
